Message to the Post Abortive Woman
The Pregnancy Resource Center offers you a place to share your pain, guilt and shame following an abortion(s). Depending on your personality, background, and circumstances, for some post abortion symptoms may appear almost immediately, for others years later, or seemingly never. It may seem strange that something that is legal and that was put in place to eliminate “a problem” could not only engender such strong emotions, but also lead to so many other problems. However, when you consider that a life was lost, your child’s, it really isn’t so odd. There are few places in our society where you are allowed to grieve the life of that aborted child—hence, the unresolved grief and pain. For this reason, the remorse, shame, anger, unforgiveness and sorrow is not only not relieved, but grows and leads to other negative results.
The Pregnancy Resource Center offers you a place to be healed in a loving, nonjudgmental, confidential environment. There are counselors available, post abortive women included, who have felt many of the things you have felt but have been wonderfully healed. We would love to help you do the same. Women are not alone in their grief . The studies can be done with a counselor or in a small group. All it requires is a heart that desires to walk in truth. The results can be life and freedom! The study that is best for you will be decided when you meet with your counselor.
If a study holds no appeal to you but you need a listening ear and an open, loving heart, we want to be there for you as well. If the thought of even coming in scares you, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org and we can communicate through email until you feel safe. There is really no reason for you to carry this alone any longer. There is help. Call our 24-Hour Helpline at (831) 475-2200 and set up an appointment.

Post Abortion Stress
Does it affect you?
If you’ve had an abortion…
- Do you find yourself struggling to turn off feelings connected to your abortion(s), perhaps telling yourself over and over again to forget about it?
- Do you find yourself avoiding books, magazines and television programs that deal with the subject of abortion?
- Are you affected by physical reminders of your abortion (babies, pregnant women, etc)?
- Are you uncomfortable around children?
- Are there certain times of the year you find yourself depressed, sick or accident-prone, especially around the anniversary date of the abortion or would-be birth date?
- Are you resentful and unforgiving toward anyone because of his or her involvement in your abortion(s)—parents, boyfriend, abortionist, friends, husband, or even yourself?
Post-Abortion Stress is a type of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder which develops when a woman is unable to work through her emotional responses resulting from the trauma of an abortion. The grief she may feel after an abortion is seldom acknowledged but often repressed or denied.
Post-Abortion Stress happens when the grieving process is not completed. It may occur within a few months following an abortion, or it may surface many years later.
A woman experiencing Post-Abortion Stress needs to complete the natural grieving process. We offer counseling to guide her through this process.
All our services are free and confidential.
