Can I choose a family for my baby?

Yes! You may choose the family you think is best for your baby. You may meet the family and spend time with them.

Can I spend time with my baby after the birth?

You can spend as much time with your baby at the hospital as you choose.

What about after the adoption?

When you are planning your child’s adoption, you can choose an adoption plan that allows for ongoing visits, or you can choose to just receive letters and photos.

Can I receive medical and/or financial assistance?

Yes, assistance with medical and living expenses is available.

What if I change my mind about placing for adoption?

You have a certain time period the law allows for you to change your mind after signing the adoption placement papers.

There is a lot of information about this loving and mature decision. The process can be a little overwhelming, but there is help and support as you consider all the options available to you. You have the right to know all of your options and any other information that might affect your decision, and you owe it to yourself to fully understand each option so you can make an informed decision.

The Pregnancy Resource Center has specially trained counselors who will sit and talk with you in a private setting and caring environment about all of your options. It is important to take your time, ask all your questions, and think carefully about your decision. Only you can decide which option is right for you.
